Another new image rotator! The application used simple masking skill in creating the transition effects. You may further customize it or create new effects for your own need.

Creating Animated Mask [AS3] vs [C#]

In Flash, creating mask or animated is fairly simple. You may just add a mask layer and use the Shape Tween Effect. Everything can be done in a minutes!!

However, it’s another story in Silverlight. Since you have to use the Geometry object to clip an object, animating the mask is no longer a simple stuff. Firstly, Blend has a very poor support for Geometry and it’s very hard to use. Besides, the StoryBoard model in Silvelight is comparatively hard to make animations comparing to using the Shape Tween.

It seems this site is only visited by MS/Silverlight fans.

I am a Silverlight fan myself and prefer it over Flash, but to be honest, it is painfully obvious that the Flash animations perform better (the Silverlight animations are choppy).

The vote count surely must be based on a one-sided visitor selection.

    Karl,

You are right. To be honest, the voting seems can’t reflect the actual result already.
Somehow, I think I have to review the voting system.

Its like you learn my thoughts! You appear to grasp so much about this, like you wrote the e-book in it or something. I feel that you can do with some p.c. to power the message house a little bit, but other than that, this is magnificent blog. An excellent read. I’ll definitely be back.
